Mr. McPherson is an enigma. No one knows for sure what he does, either for a living or for Mr. Friskett. Many theories have been proposed, including student, teacher, and even actor! Witnesses claim to have seen him teaching History, directing plays, attending classes at local universities, and some people even believe that Houston may have impersonated Leonardo Da Vinci as long ago as the 15th century! These same people also theorize that Houston was asked to impersonate Da Vinci by Da Vinci himself so that he could find some peace and quiet to do his work. This left Houston to answer most of the mundane questions that Da Vinci was asked every day. Evidence concerning Da Vinci's time travel methods and capabilities are discussed at length elsewhere.
People have also studied what Houston does for Mr. Friskett and exactly how he contributes to the group. These studies have run into similar dead ends. Whatever his purpose in the group it is obvious that Mr. Friskett views Mr. McPherson as an essential part of his operation.
